This Position Requires:


Strategic and Creative Thinking

  • ‪Plan/execute client media, social and communications strategies that get results
  • Research, write and execute media plans that meet earned, paid and owned media goals
  • Develop and recommend creative concepts that support client brand differentiation
  • Analyze client business and competitive set to uncover fresh ideas for scoring client wins


Superior Client Satisfaction Focus

  • Value and steward your assigned clients’ business as you would your own
  • Conduct ongoing client SWOT analysis to fuel account strategy and tactics
  • Develop proactive, solution-focused relationships with client teams
  • Prepare and present well-organized and error-free client communications and documents
  • Anticipate, respond, and resolve challenges quickly and positively

Media Relations Skills

  • Monitor, report on, and respond to the latest media trends and client opportunities
  • Build, develop, and nurture beneficial relationships with media and influencers
  • ‪Create compelling story ideas and write/articulate succinct pitches that result in earned, paid and owned placements
  • Respond quickly to news cycles with effective media offers, such as unique client data, expert interviews, media assets, company insights
  • Write impactful press materials and content, including bylined articles
  • Proactively present ideas for client initiatives that can result in positive media attention, such as surveys, white papers, events, virtual experiences, media tours and more


Social/Digital Media Skills

  • Support client social media activities, including community management, content ideas and creation, platform-unique campaigns
  • Create and prepare unique and sourced content for social and digital distribution, such as video, infographics, animated images, contests, games
  • Source and manage influencers that support client business objectives
  • Analyze social and digital data; prepare Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports


Agency Services Support

  • Conduct client and prospect industry and category research
  • Write and format content for PowerPoint presentations, client reports and internal use
  • Creatively contribute to new business proposal brainstorms
  • Participate in new business pitches and presentations, including virtual and on-site meetings


Required Core Attitudes and Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written skills. You can present ideas and results articulately and compellingly. You are a stickler for writing grammatically correct copy that creatively and persuasively conveys client messaging
  • Energetic multi-tasker. You are highly organized and able to prioritize and manage multiple conversations, tasks and deadlines for clients and internal team members
  • Social and digital media savvy. You’re an early adopter and active user of platforms. You can confidently counsel clients on the most effective mix of channels and content as well as trends and opportunities.


Required and Preferred Hard Skills:

  • Media database expertise, such as Cision or Meltwater (required)
  • Microsoft Office expertise, including working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Excel (required)
  • Adobe Creative suite experience, such as InDesign and Photoshop (preferred)
  • Google Ads certification (preferred)
  • Facebook Blueprint certification (preferred)
  • Hootsuite Social Marketing/Hootsuite platform certification (preferred)
  • HubSpot Content Marketing certification (preferred)


Reports to

  • Account Director or Manager




  • 1-3 years agency experience
  • Successful track record of story and content placement in earned media
  • Prior experience with online monitoring, measurement, web/social analytics tools
  • A portfolio of work, including business and creative writing examples, social media content
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize activities across a variety of client accounts
  • An outgoing, collaborative personality and strategic, analytical mind
  • BA or BS in Public Relations, Social Marketing, Journalism, Digital Media or related field
  • Location: Atlanta or Huntsville, AL
